Learn more about Tracking your Soul with Joe Landwehr

Author and astrologer Joe Landwehr gave a free one-hour talk to an enthusiastic audience (including members of Insightfully Social) in the Living Room at Mama Jean's, Springfield, MO, on August 30, 2012. For those who missed it a full recording, including question time, can be heard below.

 

The talk, entitled 'Tracking the Soul With An Astrology of Consciousness', was based on Joe's book of the same name. Joe described how the astrological birthchart can be combined with an understanding of the seven chakras to help shed light on real life issues and concerns, and facilitate personal growth.

Mapping the Chakras to the Birthchart: Extract from Tracking the Soul by Joe Landwehr

In anticipation of the first Tracking the Soul Workshop this Fall (October 12-18, 2012), Ancient Tower Press presents a series of extracts from the book that inspired this offering. The 6-day experiential workshop will integrate the exquisite spiritual psychology of the seven chakras with a personal, image-based approach to astrology called astropoetics.  All workshop participants will receive a free copy of Tracking the Soul (a $25 value).   We hope these book extracts will entice you; and, if you cannot join us, you can of course obtain your own copy direct from Ancient Tower Press.

The extract below is adapted from from Chapters Nine and Twenty Five.

We begin our discussion of the astrological factors associated with each chakra by observing that the birthchart itself is depicted as a circle, and remembering that chakra means “circle.”  The circle is the preeminent symbol for wholeness, but we will experience this wholeness – which is who we are at core – differently as our consciousness shifts from one chakra to another. As we approach the birthchart from the perspective of each chakra, the very nature of the circle encompassing the birthchart shifts in meaning, and creates an entirely different context in which everything within it must be understood.  Signs, houses, planetary dynamics, and every other component of the astrological language must be approached differently, depending on which chakra (or chakras) are being evoked in a given moment, or in reference to a given question.
